What Are Your Baking Must Haves?

I don't know about you, but I'm always interested in knowing what the "must haves" are for others that enjoy baking and being in the kitchen.  What are the things you think every home baker needs in their kitchen?  Leave your thoughts in the comments!

  1. Must haves include good measuring spoons and cups and a great mixer. I love my Kitchen-Aid.

  2. Parchment Paper - I buy a pkg of large sheets in bulk at Gordon Food Service. Beyond reasonable.
A metal "shaker," intended for powdered sugar, but filled with flour to easily add a coating to rolling surface, dough etc.

  3. Parchment Paper sheets, metal measuring spoons and cups, a couple sets of each and a stand mixer. A hand held mixer works, but once I got my stand mixer, I was in love!

  4. KitchenAid stand mixer....it is well worth the investment and I use it for everything from baking to straining tomatoes for canning sauce to making sausages.

  6. Stand mixer for sure, and everything mentioned above, especially heatproof spatulas,. Bench scrapers, and a digital scale that has both metric and imperial. Although I love my stand mixer, I still use the handheld often for small amounts of cream and egg whites.

  8. Well lets see... measuring spoons and cups are definite must haves, then I would say my kitchen aid stand mixer (this is a workhorse, have had it for 20+ years and still going strong!) as well as my kitchen aid hand mixer. And like some of the others say parchment paper. Rubber scrappers and a good knives are essential too. I hope we weren't supposed to pick just one tool!!

  9. Well I sure do love my potato ricer. For restaurant quality mashed potatoes it's a must! I pull it out every now and then, and of course at Thanksgiving. I'm an avid cook and I still have yet to purchase a Kitchen Aid mixer and I want one so bad. I just gotta do it!
